To recap part 1 and 2, here is a quick review of where we are so far:
- Introduction, verse, chorus, slight return to intro, verse with a modification, and another chorus
- Capo the 3rd fret!
- Modified verse has a slight break to make room for a big moment in the vocals
- Strumming pattern can be modified for application and experience
Let’s continue!
2nd Chorus:
The 2nd chorus is just like the previous one found earlier in the song. The same driving pattern of 2 measures of E major followed by Cmaj7 to D is exactly as before, finally ending on an extended E major, closing out the section and moving to an orchestrated interlude.

Interlude:
Here we have a short 12 measure interlude, expanding the orchestration found in the introduction. The ending is slightly different, perfectly dovetailing into the bridge. Do not gloss over this section, thinking it’s exactly the same as the previous intro. It’s not! Although it contains many of the same melodic content, it also successfully pushes it further. It should be noted that the interlude starts at the end of chorus, hence, at the top of this image, you will see only half a measure. Normally, you will be holding down E major until the 3rd beat, then move into the interlude.
Bridge:
The 4 measures above represent the bridge section, brand new melodic material and different chords as well. For ease of learning the tune, I have the strumming patterns presented exactly as before, only applied to the new chords. 2 measures of D major, followed by A major, then a G major in the 4th measure. For a reminder of how to play A (there’s a picture in part 1). This entire section repeats 4 times total, giving us a 16 measure bridge. From here, we head back to the verse!
